I got my first tattoo in 2000 at the ripe old age of 25. It was a big Japanese-style tiger by Colin Stevens that spanned from my shoulder to my elbow -- and at that instant I knew I wanted to become a tattoo artist.
I persistently pestered Colin until he, along with Chris Conn, agreed to share their tattoo secrets. They were both incredibly helpful, supportive, and inspiring. I then finished up my training with the girls at Black and Blue Tattoo, where l cut my teeth working in a busy shop environment.
I love tattooing because of the personal connection I have with my clients and because of the chance it gives me to be creative. I'm in love with the strange, the absurd, and the beautiful. I enjoy tattooing Japanese-style work, band logos, lettering, and odd designs.
I'm really excited to be working at Sacred Rose! Come get a tattoo and we can chat about pop culture, fried snack foods, circuses, pirate radio, and art. Or challenge me to a game of Ms. Pac-Man. And yes, I have a Ms. Pac-Man tattoo.
